Cap Anamur starts another school construction project in Bowesse<\/h5>\n

Cap Anamur already completed a school construction project in the Central African Republic last year. Last week, another new construction of an elementary school was started.
\nThe new elementary school will be built in the Bossemb\u00e9l\u00e9 district, where Cap Anamur also operates the hospital. The village of Bowesse 2 is about a 1.5 hour drive from our clinic location. Currently, about 1,332 people live in the small village.
\nThe previous school is completely dilapidated and really only consists of a wooden skeleton without a roof. Therefore, the approximately 580 students have been housed in a temporary school for a long time. The two village churches are available as a temporary solution. However, the boys and girls here do not even have enough seating and often have to follow the lessons standing up. Cap Anamur project manager visits the dilapidated old school and evaluates the construction project<\/h5>\n

Marius Akpe, who has coordinated all projects in the Central African Republic for Cap Anamur since 2014, visited the dilapidated school and evaluated a future construction project. No government funds are available for the rehabilitation of the village school, so the mayor of Bowesse 2, together with the village community, had approached Cap Anamur’s project manager and asked for support.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”105735″ caption=”yes” media_width_use_pixel=”yes” alignment=”center” uncode_shortcode_id=”932558″ media_width_pixel=”600″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”433209″]<\/p>\n

For the new building of the school we could acquire the help of the foundation Fly & Help<\/h5>\n

Fortunately, the Fly & Help Foundation supports us in the project, and together with local craftsmen, the planning could begin. In doing so, we make sure that as much of the workforce as possible comes from the region, that building materials are sourced regionally, and that local craftsmen also create furniture, for example. The foundation stone for the new building was laid<\/h5>\n

Last week, we celebrated the laying of the foundation stone together with the village community, the mayor and representatives of the municipality. The construction work will now proceed rapidly and a completion of the new elementary school is planned for the end of September.<\/p>\n
