Cap Anamur part of the consortium of 5 NGOs to strengthen children’s rights<\/h5>\n

Since June 17, 2020, Cap Anamur also participates in a consortium of 5 NGOs that aim to give a voice to street children in Sierra Leone. Together they want to create awareness and advocate for children’s rights.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”143897″]<\/p>\n

Government of Sierra Leone plans to revise the national rights of children<\/h5>\n

The Ministry of Gender and Children Affairs of Sierra Leone would like to revise the national child rights. The consortium recommends that a Harvard University survey of 112 street children from Freetown, be used as the basis for the revision of children’s rights. This is because the findings from the survey show the actual picture of the situation in which the children live.[\/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”105717″ media_width_percent=”100″ alignment=”center” uncode_shortcode_id=”157398″][vc_column_text uncode_shortcode_id=”138153″]<\/p>\n

Action day for children’s rights on April 12, 2021 – even with its own song<\/h5>\n

In order to also draw the attention of the population of Sierra Leone to the situation of street children, a day of action will be held on April 12, 2021. Cap Anamur participates in the program and thus supports the important educational work.<\/p>\n

The consortium has had its own song produced for this day of action. Two participants from each street children’s shelter were allowed to take part in a workshop. The girls and boys learned to write and produce a song in this workshop. Together they then recorded it in the studio. In it they sing about the dangers on the street and the reasons why they ended up on the street but also about their wishes and how they imagine the future.<\/p>\n
