The result is an impressive documentary that tells the stories of our dedicated employees, authentically shows everyday life in the hospital and impressively highlights the challenges in a country characterised by war and instability.<\/p>\n

That’s what the filmmakers say<\/strong><\/h4>\n

\u2018The biggest humanitarian catastrophe at the moment is hardly getting any media attention: since the outbreak of war in Sudan in April 2023, twelve million people have been displaced. One in two of the approximately 50 million Sudanese are threatened by hunger. Yet these figures remain difficult to comprehend, as does the complex conflict in which ethnic cleansing and the starvation of the population are used as war tactics.<\/p>\n

We wanted to understand the human dimension of this conflict<\/strong> and were therefore looking for a place where we could film in relative safety for two months 3 a place where all facets of the war<\/strong> could be seen at the same time. We chose the hospital in the Nuba Mountains, which is run by the German aid organisation Cap Anamur. Almost a million refugees from all parts of the country have flocked to this area, and the hospital is one of only two in the entire region. That’s where we found the stories for this documentary.<\/p>\n

They tell of displacement and hunger<\/strong>, but also of the resilience of the people –<\/strong> of their strength and their will to survive in a war that receives hardly any international attention<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

And of a growing feeling of having been forgotten by the world.\u2019<\/h4>\n
