They are crucial to general health, a balanced diet and quality of life. Untreated dental conditions cause severe pain, can lead to infections and significantly restrict daily life. For many people in Bangladesh, however, dental treatment remains out of reach.   <\/p>\n<h5 data-section-id=\"xq39rd\" data-start=\"663\" data-end=\"724\">A lack of care affects people in rural areas in particular<\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"726\" data-end=\"1234\">In rural areas in particular, there are very few treatment options. Many state-run healthcare facilities do not have a dental unit, or are unable to use existing treatment rooms due to a lack of equipment. At the same time, many families cannot afford treatment at a private practice. Dental conditions are therefore often only treated once the pain has become unbearable. It is not uncommon for the only option left to be the removal of the affected tooth.    <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1301\" data-end=\"1675\">Since 2008, Cap Anamur has been working in Bangladesh to improve access to healthcare in various regions of the country. Together with local partners, we support state-run health centres and charitable healthcare organisations by providing medicines, laboratory reagents, medical equipment, hospital beds and other urgently needed supplies. <\/p>\n<h5 data-section-id=\"b48e8i\" data-start=\"1677\" data-end=\"1725\">A dental clinic opens up new possibilities<\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"1727\" data-end=\"2204\">A major milestone in our work was the funding of a modern dental clinic. During a project visit, it became clear that many health centers either lacked a dental department or were unable to use existing treatment units due to a lack of equipment. By providing a complete dental unit and the necessary accessories, we were able to sustainably improve dental care.  <\/p>\n<h5 data-section-id=\"dblni0\" data-start=\"2206\" data-end=\"2267\">Thousands of people are receiving dental care for the first time<\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"2269\" data-end=\"2701\">The figures show just how great the need is. During the project period from July 2025 to June 2026 alone, <strong>45,508 patients<\/strong> received dental treatment. The teams performed <strong>5,449 tooth extractions<\/strong> and<strong> 17,104<\/strong> other dental procedures. For many people, this was their first opportunity ever to receive professional help for toothaches, inflammation, or other oral health conditions.   <\/p>\n<h5 data-section-id=\"z2onl\" data-start=\"2703\" data-end=\"2754\">Free treatment ensures access for everyone<\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"2756\" data-end=\"3305\">It is particularly important that treatment be free of charge for everyone. In Bangladesh, the cost of medical care places a heavy financial burden on many families. As a result, dental treatment in particular is often postponed or avoided altogether. Thanks to Cap Anamur\u2019s support, even people without financial means now have access to quality dental care. This can help relieve pain, treat infections, and prevent long-term health consequences.    <\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3369\" data-end=\"3856\">Today, Cap Anamur supports a total of nine health facilities in Bangladesh, including six government health centers and three privately run facilities. During the project period from July 2025 to June 2026, more than <strong>1.09 million patients<\/strong> received medical care there. About<strong> 64 percent<\/strong> of all people treated were women and children. They often belong to the population groups that face the greatest barriers to accessing medical care.  <\/p>\n<h5 data-section-id=\"bjx528\" data-start=\"3858\" data-end=\"3909\">Dental health means dignity and quality of life<\/h5>\n<p data-start=\"3911\" data-end=\"4352\">By funding the dental clinic, we are creating far more than just a new treatment room. We are giving thousands of people access to dental care that relieves pain, prevents disease, and improves their quality of life.
