Ways into the Cap Anamur Team
Yearly, Cap Anamur sends experienced staff members to our various projects worldwide. But, be aware, being deployed in a crisis area is not a “normal” job. The conditions are often harsh, the accommodation not a luxury and the experiences very formative. But those who get involved in such a project have the opportunity to broaden their own horizons, in many ways – personally, but professionally.

A job in an international, multidisciplinary team.
While on site in our projects, we work and live with people from a wide variety of country origin, culture, and professional disciplines. Unfamiliar workloads, cultures and life circumstances require a high degree of composure, team spirit and flexibility in dealing with new situations, emergencies and the people on the ground.
Our projects are fundamentally designed to continue to function effectively and smoothly after our withdrawal. During the assignment, we therefore work closely with local staff and authorities.
Always directly on site
In principle, all our employees live directly on site. This strengthens their own ability to assess the situation and thus makes it easier to deal with the special challenges that a foreign assignment brings. Not only for this reason, the deployment period is at least six months. During this time, our employees actively support people in need, participate in sustainable projects and play a key role in shaping them. We work in small teams with flat hierarchies. This makes it easier for project participants to contribute and implement their own ideas.
Frugality required
Participation in our projects requires the ability to live with less. The shower is often cold, the internet frequently breaks, and the bed may be improvised. Life at our deployment sites is often not easy and takes some getting used to; luxury is not to be expected. We want to communicate this clearly so that everyone who is interested in working for Cap Anamur is aware of it. Workloads and life circumstances also vary within our projects. What they have in common, however, is that a high degree of composure, team spirit and flexibility in dealing with new situations is required. Basic requirements for project work at Cap Anamur
- a minimum age of 25 years
- At least three years of professional experience (after college or apprenticeship)
- solid foreign language skills
- Time for a foreign assignment of six months
- the ability to work independently
- Team-player skills
- Improvisational and organizational skills
In addition, good empathy is required, because we work closely with local helpers and link up with existing structures. For medical professionals, a tropical course is recommended, but not required.

In our teams, we prefer flat hierarchies and respectful cooperation. This allows those who wish to do so to also implement their own ideas.
We pay our employees a gross salary of 2,000 euros per month.
In addition to the statutory health insurance and the professional association’s foreign insurance, we also take out a foreign health insurance, an accident insurance, a professional liability insurance as well as a flight return insurance for our employees.
