Helping in a crisis area

Nurse Mirja and doctor Anke worked for Cap Anamur at the hospital in the Nuba Mountains. Both report in the ZDF contribution "Helping in a Crisis Area" about their work and the experiences they made during their time in Sudan.

Cap Anamur betreibt seit 1997 ein Krankenhaus in den Nuba Bergen im Sudan.

Nurse Mirja and doctor Anke worked for Cap Anamur at the hospital in the Nuba Mountains. In the remote region in Sudan, they provided medical aid and gained completely new experiences during their mission.

While Anke had previously worked as a doctor in a pediatric clinic, she also had to attend critical births and make medical decisions independently in the Nuba Mountains.

Mirja not only cared for patients, but also assisted in surgical procedures.

Both have left their usual private as well as professional life to help in a region where there is hardly any medical care.

How much the work at Cap Anamur Hospital has shaped the two of them and what experiences they have had, they report in the ZDF 37 Grad feature “Helping in a Crisis Area”.
