Obituary for the death of Alfred Biolek
Alfred Biolek was a supporting member of Cap Anamur / German Emergency Doctors e.V. - an obituary by Christel Neudeck.
“Alfred Biolek is dead. He was and is more alive in our thoughts than almost any other person. We from the Cap Anamur Committee are very, very grateful to him.
He supported us when we were doing well; but he also supported us when we were not doing so well. The one who is there even when it is not as publicly impactful, the one who does something without talking about it much, those are the people you never forget.
Alfred always came to Troisdorf, the secret capital of the Vietnamese, as Rupert said, for the big festivals with his Vietnamese fellow citizens. Troisdorf then resembled Saigon because you saw more Vietnamese than Germans there. And Alfred was the guest of honor that everyone knew. He brought joy wherever he appeared. I believe he loved his fellow man.
With Rupert he went to Rwanda and cooked his famous goulash soup at the Cap Anamur vocational school.
He had no qualms about talking to celebrities and to victims of the genocide in Rwanda. He took everyone seriously and he let himself be touched by the fate of people who were not born on the sunny side of life.
THANK YOU Alfred Biolek!”
