Cap Anamur / German Emergency Doctors e.V. has been running a hospital in Sudan since 1997

In the south of Sudan, in the inaccessible Nuba Mountains, there is virtually no medical care. Therefore, Cap Anamur established a hospital in the region in 1997. Since then, medical professionals have been sent to provide medical care to patients and further training to local staff.

Medical professionals from Germany work directly on site

Nathalie Petek is among eight to ten medical professionals who complete a minimum six-month deployment each year. The work at Cap Anamur Hospital is very different from that in Germany. The Viennese nurse most recently worked in the intensive care unit at the Favoriten Clinic. There, she cared for patients who were in critical health. She was able to rely on the support of an entire team and professional technology.
