After Outbreak of War: Cap Anamur Launches Aid Project in Ukraine

The war of aggression by Russia and President Putin, violates international law and exposes the locals to immense suffering. We at Cap Anamur / German Emergency Doctors e.V. are now providing urgently needed help to the people on the ground.

What does Cap Anamur’s aid in Ukraine look like?

We have already supported and supplied several clinics in eastern Ukraine in recent years. Now thousands of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) who are in the southern region need our help. Many have so far been able to find accommodation in private homes and temporary refuge centers. However, there is currently a shortage of medicines, bandages, food, baby food, sleeping bags and much more.

Supporting internally displaced persons in southern Ukraine with relief supplies

For this reason, we have contacted local authorities, clinics and volunteer groups to support the local refugees with everything they need. Our chairman Volker Rath and board member and internist Dr. Werner Höfner are currently on their way to the Romanian-Ukrainian border with the first relief supplies in their luggage. Both have many years of experience with international crisis projects and will coordinate once they arrive on site.

The opinion of our chairman of the board Volker Rath:

“We strongly condemn Putin’s unjustified and despicable invasion. Our goal now must be to get the suffering people the help they need as quickly as possible.”
– Volker Rath, Chairman of the Board Cap Anamur

Our efforts on the ground are best supported by means of donations! Please include the designated use “UKRAINE”. Thank you!
